If I were to die
Would you write
For me an epitaph
Befitting of a queen
A woman of substance
Perhaps of plain me
Or
Would you just
Drive up to the hills
Sit by a gurgling stream
Amidst the lush green
Gaze at the mountains
Feel the serenity of their
Purples, blues, greens
Listen to the
Wind whispering
Through the pine trees
Or
Would you just
Go to a sea shore
Sit silently on silvery sands
Watch the sea stretching endlessly
Merging into the distant horizon
The sun spreading its colours
Across the dusky evening sky
Before disappearing into the sea
A lone sea gull flying home
Frothy white waves
Rushing rapidly
Caressing the shore
Kissing your feet
Carrying away your tears
As they bid adieu
Before receding mournfully
Into the tranquil sea
Merging into the vast ocean
Into infinity
